Luke

My name is Luke. When I grow up I want to be an engineer or an artist. I like to draw and play outside in the creek to look for salamanders and frogs.

Last Fall, I joined PAPA on a trip to Natural Tunnel in Virginia. I got to take time to just sit and draw this beautiful place from different perspectives. My favorite part was exploring inside the tunnel and looking for animals in the water and underneath rocks. We camped there for two days – it was an awesome experience.

Luke is a young adventurer and artist. He was a valuable part of the team on our Natural Tunnel visit. Luke found it fascinating to seek the same vantage point of the artist from 140 years ago and sketch those same scenes again.

“Natural Tunnel”

I was sitting inside the Natural Tunnel and liked the view from where I was sitting, so I wanted to draw it. I enjoyed drawing the reflection and the rocks in the water.

“Crested Gecko”

I drew a Crested Gecko because of my love for reptiles, and because I have a crested gecko named “Sticky”.
