We woke the next morning, ate breakfast, and headed out to see the Denver Art Museum. When we got there, the building was so cool! I was amazed by it. On the way in we saw this GIANT sculpture of a broom sweeping into a dust pan. We were like ants compared to it!
It was amazing! We headed inside to look for Thomas Moran paintings. We checked out an Asian art room, we saw some really cool artwork in it. It had mostly wood block prints and the colors were great!
Next we passed a room with the walls covered in cardboard and styrofoam. They had spikes and different designs all over; even the chandelier was made of styrofoam!
We now headed across to the paintings, but something caught our eyes. It was a place where you could make postcards! You could color and use stamps of some of the artwork from around the museum, like a bison or a tree.
We made a few before moving on to the Thomas Moran paintings. We got in the elevator and headed up. On the way, we spotted HUGE totem poles that filled a room! We stood at the base of some and we were tiny compared to them. It was amazing!
Then we headed into the room with his work, It was REALLY cool! We ended up finding more pics from the book.
We were getting hungry so we headed down to the museum’s cafe to get some lunch. We ate and went outside to check out another structure.
It was fun to climb on it, but was time to head out to Colorado Springs! We got there after a little while, enjoyed pretty views, and explored the small town of Manitou Springs. They had an old timey arcade and we went to it, played some fun games, and got prizes!
It was really fun! It was getting fairly dark so we went to a restaurant for dinner. We had gotten some tiny cards at the arcade and played with them at the restaurant.
After eating were were tired, so we headed to our condo and WENT TO BED.
