Elias

Hello! My name is Elias. I’ve been working with Preserving A Picturesque America for over three years. This project has given me the opportunity to see the iconic scenery of our country with different eyes. I’ve been able to travel coast to coast, writing and drawing about my experiences. When I’m not on a PAPA trek, I enjoy swimming and rock climbing. I also enjoy fish keeping and studying the environmental sciences. Thanks for checking out what we do. Please help our project by submitting an art piece that represents a special place, an animal, or a memorable experience you’ve had.

Elias is one of the original members of the Preserving a Picturesque America project, and has a love for travel to new places. His artistic contributions include native birds and abstract landscapes. He has also written poetry and short stories about some of his adventures with PAPA.

“Steller’s Jay In Flight”

This Steller’s Jay was a hiking companion during my stay in the Yosemite Valley and Sierra mountains, flashing it’s vibrant blue wings as it explored the sky.

Why I support this organization… With its 500 chapters across the U.S. and over 2,500 “Important Bird Areas” (places where birds are especially threatened by human encroachment, ranging from New York’s Jamaica Bay to Alaska’s Arctic Slope), the National Audubon Society is one of America’s premier organizations devoted to bird and wildlife conservation. The NAS enlists “citizen-scientists” in its annual bird surveys, including the Christmas Bird Count and the Coastal Bird Survey, and encourages its members to lobby for effective conservation plans and policies.
